Project We Are Proud Of
Slope Stabilization and Erosion Control at Musandam Gas Plant using ConstruckSlope Systems over an area of 45,500 m²

ConstruckSlope: Advancing Resilient and Sustainable Slope Protection
Project Overview

Challenges Identified
- Severely weathered and fractured rock masses causing inherent structural instability.
- Unstable benches (15m) protecting Oman's highway and other infrastructure.
- High risk of rockfalls and slope failures along exposed faces.
- Inadequate stormwater drainage under peak-flow conditions leading to uncontrolled runoff and erosion.
Solution Implemented:
To address these challenges, a range of ConstruckSlope systems is implemented tailored to each slope's condition:
- •ConstruckSlope Basic - Used in moderate slopes for general erosion control.
- •ConstruckSlope Plus - Applied to high erosion zones, delivering superior slope stabilization.
- •ConstruckSlope Extreme - Installed on steep, highly weathered slopes requiring advanced durability.
- •ConstruckWire/Drapere - Provided intermediate outfall protection in critical zones.
- •ConstruckSlope Rock Barrier - Intercepted rockfall to protect infrastructure and personnel.
These innovative systems were selected over conventional methods due to their adaptability, efficiency, and suitability for the site's geotechnical conditions.
Project Outcomes: Integrated Slope Protection for the Musandam Gas Plant
The deployment of multiple ConstruckSlope systems across the 45,500 m² project area delivered a comprehensive, adaptive, and sustainable solution to slope instability and erosion in one of Oman's most geologically complex regions.
System-Specific Slope Stabilization
Each slope zone was matched with a targeted solution—ranging from general erosion control to advanced containment—ensuring site-wide stability across varying terrain and rock conditions.
Enhanced Resilience in High-Risk Zones
ConstruckSlope Extreme and CemWrap systems provided long-term durability on steep, weathered, and fracture-prone slopes, mitigating failure risks under seismic and rainfall stressors.
Controlled Rockfall Protection
ConstruckSlope Rock Barrier intercepted loose debris and rockfall, protecting plant infrastructure and securing access routes without the need for rigid retaining structures.
Optimized Use of Engineered Materials
Modular deployment reduced reliance on heavy construction and concrete works, conserving resources while ensuring structural integrity.
Improved Stormwater Management
Integrated drainage layers and engineered water pathways reduced surface runoff and prevented localized erosion during peak rainfall events.
Reduced Environmental Impact
The phased, in-slope installation approach minimized earth disturbance and emissions, aligning with the plant's operational sustainability goals.
